i am a singer, songwriter, musician, and teacher, living and working in Cyprus for the past 12 years.
As a working singer/musician i perform all styles of music from the 60's to the present day.

Jimmy Spender
and his life...So Far....

Jimmy Spender, is regarded by his peers as probably the best all round entertainer in Cyprus, his unique blend of singing, musicianship, and comedy are unparalleled the island over, the sheer size and variation in styles in his repertoire are envied by the many entertainers who have saw this guy in action.

Jimmy has been in Cyprus since 1999, and as well as being a top class act, with his wife and soul mate of 30 years Karen, ran “Spenders” 1 & 2 there very own entertainment bars and restaurants in Kapparis & Protaras,

Jimmy has been a musician all his life, and started plying his trade from the ripe old age of eight years old, son of a jazz drummer, many people may not know that he too was a professional drummer and percussionist for most of his life, and has worked with bands such as Restless Natives and Zoom Lens who were voted best up and coming band of the year by whispering Bob Harris on the legendary BBC show The Old Grey Whistle Test, as well as working along with many bands from Hue & Cry and the River Detectives to the Bay City Rollers, they may also not know that he was a music teacher for 17 years, one of his former students has recently worked with Debbie Harry (Blondie) Fish from (Marillion), and Hugh Cornwall from the (Stranglers), to name but a few. His passion for singing meant that he sang as well as played drums with many of the bands that he has performed, recorded, and toured with during his long and illustrious career so far.

Many entertainers have tried to copy him in Cyprus in many ways over the years, but failed miserably, “you can copy but it will only ever be a copy, actually I take it as a compliment” say’s Jimmy. After all there is only one Jimmy Spender, as you will hear his audience regularly chant at the end of his show, the way he energetically yet effortlessly takes command of a stage, is what makes this guy different from all the rest.
